Warragul Rotary recently made a donation of $5,000 to Warragul disability service provider, Mawarra for the purchase of tablet devices for use by clients at the Centre.

“The donation from the Rotary Club of Warragul, has allowed the centre to purchase tablet devices for each room and will now allow all clients access to mobile device technology for a range of learning and development activities” says Mike Lane the Client Services Manager at Mawarra.

“Support Services at Mawarra cater for over seventy adults with an intellectual disability providing a range of activities on a daily basis”, added Mike Lane. “Many client activities include a training component whilst others are based around leisure and recreational activities. Connection within the community is encouraged and supported through social and recreational activities, voluntary work and training courses”.

“The Warragul Rotary club has been a long time supporter of Mawarra” says club President Vaughan Fox.  “The current donation of $5,000 came from the proceeds of the raffle run as a part of the 2017 Rotary Art Show”.

The presentation of the donation was made at the Rotary club’s weekly meeting hosted by Mawarra at their Albert St, Warragul site allowed club members to inspect the facilities.
