The Rotary Club of Warragul grows and sells Christmas trees as its major fund-raising activity. Typically, 750 trees are sold each year to Warragul families as well as a number of community groups in the district. Trees will go on sale in Warragul around 1 December and are sold at a number of retail outlets as well as pick your own at the plantation on the weekend. Since the Rotary Club of Warragul started growing and selling Christmas trees in 1985 over 175,000 trees have been sold generating profits in excess of $250,000 that have gone back into Rotary community projects.
